My Little Ears
Specialized audiology care for your little ones.
We are a paediatric hearing clinic based in London, dedicated to improving early identification and management of glue ear in children. Glue ear is the leading cause of temporary hearing loss in children, affecting 1 in 5 preschool children at any given time in the UK.
What children’s hearing care was always meant to be.

Glue ear affects 1 in 5 pre-school children at any given time.
In the UK, 8 out of 10 children experience glue ear before the age of 10.
This means 20% of preschool children are potentially temporarily deaf at any given time!
We are on a mission to make sure children do not suffer the negative consequences of hearing loss caused by glue ear.
We screen children in the at-risk age group of 6 months to 7 years for glue ear through the Universal Glue Ear Screening Programme sponsored by us. This helps with early detection.
If we detect glue ear, we intervene immediately, giving glue ear no chance to impact your child’s speech and language, or other aspects of their development negatively. Our intervention may come in form of advise, sign-posting you to the right service, or offering your child treatment.
Because we know that hearing loss, even for a short period of time can affect your child’s development negatively.
Why We Started My Little Ears
…because we believe:
1. No child should wait over a year just to have their hearing checked but that’s the reality for many families on NHS waiting lists. In the meantime, children with glue ear go undiagnosed, their speech and language development is impeded, and vital opportunities for early support are lost.
2. The truth is simple: children who can’t hear well, can’t speak well. Glue ear, which causes temporary hearing loss and affects 1 in 5 children at any given time, had no national screening programme. That means many children slip through the cracks. Not anymore as we started the universal glue ear screening programme through nurseries and schools.
3. As Paediatric Audiologists, we know testing at birth and again in Year 1 of primary school is not enough. Children can experience repeated episodes of glue ear right through to age 7, and older on some occasions. Without timely and consistent glue ear checks, glue ear can go undetected for months and children’s development can suffer.
4. As parents, we only get one chance to get it right for our child, and we’re here to make sure their hearing isn’t the thing holding them back.
What is the Universal Glue Ear Screening Programme?
A trained professional is sent to partner nurseries and schools once a term to perform glue ear screening for all children (ages 6 months – 7 years old) whose parents have consented.
The results from the screening are communicated to parents and staff on the day, with guidance in form of helpful resources for managing glue ear and signposting to relevant audiological or medical services.
Many parents don’t realise that glue ear can cause temporary hearing loss – and too often, children are instead labelled as naughty, inattentive, slow to speak, or difficult to manage.
With the introduction of the Universal Glue Ear Screening Programme, glue ear won’t go unnoticed. We’ll catch it early and treat it early – because hearing loss, even for a short period of time can impact a child’s development negatively.
